CREDENTIALS

I am a Chartered Engineer and have been working as an Independent Consultant since 1984.  I have a wide experience of commercial, industrial and domestic cases in UK and abroad.  I am a  director of S.A.WALSH.

As well as being a Chartered Engineer, I have separately gained MSc Occupational Safety and Health and I am a Commercial Mediator.  I am a member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, Fellow Institution of Public Health Engineers, Fellow of the Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineers, Member Association of Consulting Engineers, Member of the Worshipful Company of Plumbers, Member Institution of Occupational Safety and Health and CORGI Engineer registered in compliance Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulation 1998 reg.3 . I am a former chair of a British Standards Technical Committee for water and plumbing services; and a former director of the Institute of Plumbing.

I entered the profession as an indentured student apprentice Building Services Engineering, Public Health (Building Services) Engineering during August 1964 and qualified as an Engineer in 1969.  I continued my academic training and “hands-on” work development employed by consulting engineering practises to complete my professional qualification when I was awarded my Chartered Engineer status in 1983.  I became an Expert Witness during 1984.  During April 1999 I completed  the Academy of Experts course for CPR Compliant Expert Witness and the Single Joint Expert.  At present as part of my professional development I have gained by examination the Cardiff University Accredited Expert Witness Certificate by examination.

Continuing my on-going professional development I have gained MSc. in Occupational Safety and Health allowing me to further develop my Consultant’s expertise.

Since 1984 I have been instructed as an expert witness and given oral evidence in Civil and Criminal Courts.

My Expert Witness duties are completed in compliance with my consulting engineering practice’s B.S.EN. ISO 9001: 2000 “Quality Management” and BS.EN.ISO 14001  “Environmental Management” systems to ensure compliance with C.P.R. 1999 Part 35 to the Instructing Party’s written instructions.
